Congratulations to our talented Pediatric Dental Faculty, Dr Brent Lin, DMD, who has received a grant from The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dr Lin's project title is Predoctoral Training in General, Pediatric, and Public Health Dentistry and Dental Hygiene.
The project's aim is to increase the access of dental health care in the underserved communities. Dr Lin and the team have proposed to develop collaborative oral health training for primary health care providers and prepare the workforce in the underserved and rural communities, as well as in caring for the vulnerable population. The project will be accomplished with collaboration of health care providers in dentistry, dental hygiene, medicine, and nursing at the primary care facilities in the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), UCSF Children's Hospital, Native American Health Center, and Chabot College. This HRSA Grant is awarded for a period of 5 years (2015-2020) with $350,000 per year for a total of $1,750,000.
