Alex was nominated and selected by a panel of judges as one of the two winners for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Resident Recognition Award through the AAPD. The purpose of the award is to recognize individuals who are doing original innovative and interesting activities in the field of patient care, research, teaching/education, and/or community service. Alex has greatly contributed in children’s global health outreach activities, leadership at CSPD as Warren Brandli Intern, and innovative leadership to improve the interviewing experiences for the dental residents applicant

Volunteers from UCSF School of Dentistry, including current students, residents, faculty, as well as alumni, participated in the 2015 UCSF School of Dentistry Give Kids a Smile Day. An annual UCSF event organized by the UCSF Dentistry chapter of CPHA-N (the California Public Health Association - North), UCSF Give Kids a Smile Day aims to increase parental awareness and improve children's oral health by providing complimentary dental exam, consultation and sealant for children in the community.
Visiting Scholar Program, Center for Children’s Oral Health Research at UCSF
The Center for Children’s Oral Health Research (COR) is inviting applications for a self-pay visiting scholar program. The scholar will have the opportunity to work directly with a COR research faculty to develop a program tailored to their research interest in clinical, translational or basic science research related to children’s oral health.
