Do you offer free services?

We do not have free services, but we do have a discounted student clinic for any patient who meets the criteria.

What type of insurance do you take?

We take Delta Dental, Healthy Families, Healthy Kids and Medi-cal insurances. If you have private dental insurance, we will be more than happy to bill your insurance to help you get reimbursed.

Do you provide anesthesia services?

Yes, we do provide General Anesthesia in an operating room setting for children who fall under the required medical criteria and who are approved through their medical insurance. We also provide Conscious Sedation in a Clinic setting for children who meet the requirements.

Do you extract teeth?

Yes, we extract primary teeth and some permanent teeth. The more complicated extractions are referred to the Oral Surgery Department.

Do you do root canal treatment?

We only treat primary teeth for root canals; permanent teeth must be treated in the Pre-doctoral or Endodontic Clinics.

Why do patients have to wait?

It is important that you arrive on time for your appointment since there are many patients who need to be seen, but since this is a teaching facility; at times appointments are delayed due to complexity of the treatment provided.

Do you have weekend and evening appointments?

No, we do not have weekend or evening appointments, but if you have an after hour emergency please go to the Emergency Room at UCSF or at Children's Hospital Oakland.

How can I leave a message for one of the doctors?

To leave a message for one of our doctors, you must call (415) 476-3276 and the receptionist will take a message and deliver it to the requested doctor.

Do you treat disabled children and adults?

Yes, we treat compromised children up to age 17 and adults are referred to the UCSF Hospital Dentistry (415) 502-8914.
